Professional Silk Painting Instructor: Rosemary Cohen
In this seminar, you will learn all the techniques of silk painting from the very beginning up to very complex techniques of dyes, paints, gutta resist, salt, alcohol, batik, stenciling, stamping, screening, and much more. We will also discuss all the aspects of marketing, and answer your questions relating to silk paintings. Abstract Silk Painting Instructor: Suzanne Punch
The class will start with realistic images and then create progressively more and more abstract paintings, learning to balance the colors and designs into a challenging but cohesive statement. The class will be using thickened dyes, under painting in various colors, spray finishing, and alcohol manipulations among other techniques-all are means to end of finding each personÕs unique expression. Realism in Silk Painting Instructor: Natasha Foucault
Want to challenge your silk painting ideas and approach? Create stunning realistic imagery? In this class you will make silk paintings from rule-breaking compositions using photographic images to express your emotions and expand your artistic style. Natasha will help you develop your own personal image vocabulary, emphasizing composition and color, and using a unique approach to the gutta serti method.

Dˇvore, Burn-out Velvet and Discharge Instructor: Christine Mariotti
Have you been admiring those wonderful cut velvet scarves and fabrics? (cut velvet is also called burnout velvet or dˇvore velvet). This workshop will teach you how to design and create your own cut velvet. Students will also learn to discharge color from velvet, over dye it, and to emboss 3-dimentional designs on velvet.

Batik and Tie–dye & Shibori Instructor: Christine Mariotti
The first day you will work with wax batik on silk allows that will allow you to create a wide range of colors, textures and special effects not really possible in other ways. In this class, you will learn ways of applying the wax, dyeing and removing the wax afterwards. On the second day you will learn many techniques of Tie-dyeing which you will be to create many great and beautiful gifts for Holidays.

You can find many ready made blank or pre-designed articles excellent for Holiday gifts. Come alone or with your family and paint on ties, kippots, sun catchers, bags, jewelry and much more. Open all Day long, The fee includes guidance, paints and tools. You only pay for the item you want to decorate.

RoseMary Cohen, Ph.D. Dr. RoseMary Cohen is the successful owner of Atelier de Paris, a textile arts supply manufacturer and importer. Her work has been exhibited in Asia, Europe and America and is in many private collections. In addition to her art and teaching, she has designed textiles for and done color consulting with boutique clothing companies and movie studios. Dr. Cohen has a doctorate in sociology from Sorbonne-Paris, and is the author of four books, pattern designs, magazine articles and instructional videos.
Christine Mariotti Christine Mariotti has been a professional artist over 30 years giving specialized instruction in the Arts. With her long years of experience, she has become a leading consultant in dye applications for surface design techniques for textiles. Christine teaches in several colleges in Southern California area and has published, The Art of Silk Painting. |
Suzanne Punch Suzanne Punch received her B.F.A. from the Cleveland Institute of Art in Painting. She has been living and working in New York for 23 years. She exhibits across the country and in Japan, including a one-woman show at the Huntington Museum of Art. Work may be seen in Susan Louise MoyerÕs books. Fashion: Ralph Lauren Collection, Donna Karan Collection, and Charles Alexander for Bergdorf Goodman. Workshops in New York, Santa Fe, San Francisco, Santa Monica and Mendocino.
Natasha Foucault Natasha Foucault is a fine art painter that works on silk. Her realistic paintings have been published and exhibited world-wide. She enjoys helping students bring their work to a new level of both realism and emotional expression, using traditional and non-traditional techniques.
