Silk Painting Workshops

Introduction to Silk Painting

This class is designed for the beginners who do not have any experience or would like to try and learn some of the techniques of silk painting.

Duration 3 hours

Mondays: 10.30am to 1.30pm

Fee: $50

Advanced Silk painting

Tailored for those who have already painted on silk and would like to learn more or improve their techniques.

Wednesdays: 10.30am to 4.30pm with ½ hour lunch break.

Fee: $60

Continuing Silk Painting

This is an ongoing class for those who would like to use our Atelier space & advices.

Wednesdays: 10.30am to 1.30pm or 6.30pm to 9.30pm

Fee: $50.00/session or $185/Month

Batik on fabric and paper

Learn the old technique of decoration and painting on fabric or paper with wax. You will be able to use some of the antique japs from Rosemary’s personal collection.

November 10 or 24 from 10.30am to 4 pm

Fee: $80

Marbling on fabric and paper

This ancient secret technique is fun and magical; Atelier de Paris has discovered a very easy method to decorate your business cards and etc. Accessible to all ages.

November 12 from 10.30am to 4 pm

Designing & Burning on velvet – Dying, Discharging and Printing.

This is a very rewarding class. The technique of burn-out velvet and Discharge on fabric and a very easy technique of dying the designed scarf will be taught in the class. You will create at least 3 scarves making wonderful gift items for holidays or ready to be sold.

Professional silk painting Seminar

This two day intense seminar is aimed for all who are interested in learning most of the techniques or would like to learn in order to

To teach or start a business in silk painting. Our past students are successful teachers and professional painter. Rosemary will teach this class from the very beginning (even if you are already a silk painter), and she will take you to the higher level. With her long experience she will also give you all the information in how to start a business and will answer all your questions.

October 31-November 1 from 10.30am to 4.30pm,

November 21-22 from 10.30am to 4.30pm,

December 12-13 from 10.30am to 4.30pm

Private learning in our Atelier

This class is designed for the individuals who would like to learn or improve any technique privately for a day or more.

One student: $280 per day

Two students: $200 each

Three students: $150 each

Four to six students: $125 each

Special Event & Interest Group Painting

Tailored for special group interests, birthdays or fun parties.

Fees depend on requested project and the number of participants.

Half a day: $250 or $350 from 10.30am to 4.30.pm

Instructor:

Dr. Rosemary H. Cohen, founded of Atelier de Paris since 1985. She has taught silk painting in many countries, in France and many cities in the United States. Rosemary has painted and continues painting special designs and projects for Hollywood movies, diverse factories, for Haute Couture - Fashion designers, special Rodeo Drive Boutiques and for Interior designers.

Rosemary teaches at several colleges and in trade shows. She has appeared on many TV stations like NBC, HGTV, IRTV and many radio stations.

Her classes are fascinating and interesting as she has a wide knowledge in the subject as well as in different domains. She has obtained Doctorate degree in general sociology from the University of Paris, Sorbonne. She has taught and done research in different universities, international organizations both domestic and international.

She has painted from a very young age with French Conte pencils, black ink, oil paints and has equally studied in fine art colleges. She is the author of four published books and continuously works on new ones. She is also the founder of the annual Liana Cohen Music Festival, a very prestigious music competition and concert, now in its 13^th year of existence. Don’t worry if your English is not perfect, Rosemary speaks at least six languages perfectly.

Materials:

Upon the registration the list of materials needed will be given. Most of the time, dyes, paints and some materials are included in the fee. But silk and other fabrics, frames and some supplies should be purchased. Additional supplies may be purchased at Atelier de Paris. Our prices are very reasonable.

Terms:

Payments for classes are non-refundable unless if cancellation is made 48 or more hours prior to class. Students who register in two or more classes receive a 10% discount.
